Mooting Workshops

Mooting workshops 2022-23
The first of the mooting workshops will take place this year during October with more to follow in February. The workshops will take place in-person in Edinburgh, London and Manchester plus a virtual workshop taking place on zoom for those who prefer to do remote learning.
Please see our calendar for a full schedule of dates.

WhO Should attend?

Mooting helps develop research skills, advocacy skills, confidence and critical thinking. It is an important experience for those students who are considering life at the Bar, but also to those considering life as a solicitor (with solicitors now benefitting from much greater rights of audience in court).

If you wish to enter either internal or external mooting competitions with the OULS, you will need to attend a training session to ensure you know how to use Casedo, our new case bundling software.

The workshops also give OULS members the opportunity to meet other like-minded OU Law students at all stages of their degree in a fun and interactive environment especially as all in person workshops are followed by a social event.

Who Can attend?
Any member of the OULS can attend the mooting workshops, even if you are not studying law. If you are not a member of the OULS, or if your annual membership has lapsed. please sign up.
