The Society has gone from strength to strength each year since its inception. With a committee now comprising twelve officers (all of whom are either past or present OU students) and a membership of over 400 members, the Society offers an active and supportive community for its members.

All Officers on the OULS committee are volunteers and the Society is funded largely by membership fees (£5.00 per year, per member). Members are encouraged to get involved with the Society in any capacity, whether that be through attending our events, reading our newsletters, joining us on social media, or even joining our committee.

The OULS regularly organises events, competitions and social meetings. Annually, we hold up to three mooting workshops, the Gary Slapper Mooting competition, the annual Tom Bingham Essay Competition and many other social events. We also select and coach mooting teams who go on to represent the Open University in national mooting competitions around the country with a great degree of success.
