Opportunity to become part of a Legal Project Team - Apply now
If you are a law student, there is a fantastic opportunity to work with a small team from the Open University, looking at legal research and the resources provided. Your role could include helping with focus groups (to be held with students and staff) and the chance to be included in follow up blogs, written reports and presentations, as part of the research team. (Amazon vouchers can be raised for time spent on the project).

Join the OU debate club
For people interested in practicing their communication through discussing issues of the day they can join the debate club. They are remote first, and meet at 7pm, on Mondays. The community provides the topics and then 4 are polled per week on a WhatsApp group, with the winning topic becoming the motion to be discussed. The types of OU students currently participating in the debate club include: law, psychology, sociology and PPE and its open to anyone who is interested.

BIUCAC 2024 pre-registration for 28/10/24
The British & Irish University Commercial Awareness Competition (BIUCAC) exclusively for law students from Non Russell Group and Irish universities will take place this autumn across the United Kingdom and Ireland. This competition is an excellent opportunity for law students to enhance their commercial awareness skills, gain valuable experience and win great prizes. Entry into the competition is completely free - the competition starts in October 2024!

Speed Mooting Competition £39 entry fee 07/09/2024
This event is NOT organised by the OULS. Details of our in house mooting competition will be released shortly.
The National Speed Mooting Competition Autumn Cup 2024 in Partnership with BPP will be taking place, in person, at BPP London Central on Saturday 7th September 2024.
The competition is open to:
- Law undergraduates and graduates;
- GDL students and graduates;
- Masters, BPTC and LPC students and graduates.
The competition is for individuals and will take place over the course of a single day. Lunch and refreshments are included on the day. Entrance to the competition costs £39. The prize for the winner is an iPad. The prize for the runner up is a £100.00 Amazon voucher.

Mini Pupillage application deadlines for Radcliffe chambers and 3PB
Mini pupillage applications for Radcliffe Chambers are now open. Future barristers will have the opportunity to shadow a member of chambers for two days, and get a true insight into life as a commercial and/or chancery barrister.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday 30 June for experience between 1 September and 30 November. Financial assistance is available on a discretionary basis for those who would otherwise be unable to travel to and stay in London.

Pass application deadline 30/06/24 with The Honourable Society Of The Inner Temple
PASS (Pegasus Access and Support Scheme) is the Inn's flagship outreach programme which is designed to support aspiring barristers from under-represented backgrounds pursue a career at the Bar. The programme provides fantastic opportunities and experiences throughout the year long programme to develop key skills and, for those participants who have not had the opportunity to attend two or more mini-pupillages prior to application, will help allocate and fund a placement in a Chamber.
We welcome applications from university students, graduates and career changers. The programme is aimed at those who have not yet started the Bar Course and so in order to apply you should not be planning to start the Bar Course until September 2025 at the earliest. The programme will run from October 2024 through to June 2025.

Insight Autumn Event Bookings Open: The Honourable Society Of The Inner Temple
Insight events will provide you with an opportunity to hear from a range of practicing barristers as they talk about their journey to the Bar. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A panel and, where events are in-person, an opportunity to network with the panel and other attendees.
