William Clegg KC is the author of bestselling memoir Under The Wig (Canbury Press: 2018). Called in 1972 he took silk in 1991 and retired from practice at the end of last year. He was Head of Chambers at 2, Bedford Row for 25 years and was Treasurer of Gray’s Inn in 2019. He continues to sit as a Recorder in the Crown Court.He has fought more than 100 murder cases, more than any English barrister currently practising.

Daniel came to the Bar with 20 years’ business experience and dealt with the company’s legal disputes incorporating complex company and intellectual property law issues. For 8 of those years, he was the director of his own remote barristers’ chambers. Latterly, Daniel was instrumental in pioneering the Bar Standards Board’s Licensed Body law firm model and has since been involved with complex civil litigation and private prosecutions.
Daniel has a First-class Honours Bachelor of Laws from The Open University.
Professor Robert Merkin KC

Professionally, Rob is Special Counsel to leading New Zealand law firm Duncan Cotterill, where he advises on a range of matters. He was a consultant to the English and Scottish Law Commissions and was adviser to the House of Lords Special Public Bills Committee which is now the Insurance Act 2015.
Professor Merkin co-wrote Poole's Contract Law, the textbook used for W212 Contract Law. The talk promises to provide valuable insights for all aspiring legal professionals
Emma Greening

Emma studied with the Open University and graduated with a First Class law degree in 2021, with distinctions in all her modules. Emma was recognised as the ‘top student’ in Contract and Tort 2019 and on completion of her degree she was awarded ‘Student of the Year’ for the highest academic achievement amongst her graduating class.
During her time with the Open University, Emma was the runner-up in the Tom Bingham Memorial Prize 2018 and the winner of the OULS internal mooting competition in 2020, judged by Mark Hill KC. Alongside her studies, Emma worked as a PA for the Employment and Corporate teams at law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. Emma Greening currently is undertaking her pupillage at 3PB Oxford.
